Earlier this week it was reported that lightweight Kyle Bradley was released following a loss to Rafael Dos Anjos at UFC Fight Night 20 and now middleweight Jay Silva has also been let go by the organization after he was defeated by Chris Leben at the January 11 event in Fairfax, Virginia.
BrokeYou.com was able to give the news on Silva’s release by the UFC as he went winless in his appearances inside the Octagon.
Back in September, Jay Silva (5-3) was a late addition to the UFC Fight Night 19 card in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma but was not successful in his debut as he was ousted by C.B. Dollaway by unanimous decision and now has been beaten by Chris Leben at UFC Fight Night 20 earlier this month as Silva was thought to be getting the stand-up war he wanted.
However, Leben who is always up for a striking battle actually decided to outgrapple Silva en route to getting back in the win column as now Silva looks for work elsewhere.
Silva still owns notable wins in his MMA career against the likes of Reggie Orr and Ray Lizama.
