As we all know the UFC 108 fight card this past Saturday night had a ton of issues entering it’s January 2, 2010 date at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada as fighters had to pull out and withdraw due to injuries and illnesses to go along with replacements stepping up on as little as two weeks notice, but despite all these changes the card was still a success and no fighter competing on the card will be penalized or released by the organization due to their efforts to keep the event afloat.

Following the UFC 108 event UFC President Dana White tells MMAWeekly.com Insider Blog that Paul Daley who won the “KO of the Night” award was not penalized for losing weight like Anthony Johnson did at UFC 104 for missing weight and that no fighter will be cut due to all the changes as every competitor on the card will head home very happy.

“There is no guy on this card that will be penalized tonight,” White said. “Nobody’s going to be cut tonight, nothing’s going to happen to anybody tonight. Everybody’s going to make money tonight and leave here happy as hell.”

The UFC 108 fight card had 13 fighters withdraw due to injury, illness or rescheduling of a fight down the line which included Brock Lesnar, Shane Carwin, Vitor Belfort, Anderson Silva, Carlos Condit, Vladimir Matyushenko, Steve Cantwell, Sean Sherk , Tyson Griffin, Gabriel Gonzaga, Rory Markham and Antonio Rodrigo Rodrigo and Cain Velasquez.

So, fighters the likes of Duane ‘Bang’ Ludwig, Gilbert Yvel, Jacob Volkmann and John Gunderson will be given golden opportunities to get in the win column inside the Octagon once again.

On a side note, the only matchup on the card that remained intact throughout the whole ordeal was the reshuffled main event between former UFC light heavyweight champion Rashad Evans and Thiago Silva.

damn 13 fighters off a fight card is bad, but the event turned out better than expected, but the main event was kinda lame. Rashad couldnt really do anything with dominant positions he had on the ground, Thiago was able to scramble and get back to his feet.
