Frank Mir says he is not afraid to stand with Cheick Kongo, wants to fight Brock Lesnar when healthy

In a interview with CageReport.netFormer heavyweight champion Frank Mir talks about how bad he wants Brock Lesnar to recover, so they can fight for a third time.

“I’ve never wanted a rematch this bad before and I’m willing to go through whoever they put in front of me in order to get it.” said Mir “I hope [Brock] recovers and is able to defend his title because I want to be the one to take it from him, and next time if I manage to grab a hold of a limb I won’t let go until I feel something break, to maim him would be satisfying.”

Mir also spoke about his upcoming fight against Cheick Kongo at UFC 107. Mir says while most observers feel he should take the fight to the ground, he points out that they also felt Antonio Minotauro Nogueira had a advantage in their fight at UFC 92.

“I mean I wasn’t supposed to beat Nogueira standing and look what happened there. I’m confident that I can strike with Cheick [Kongo] and make it competitive, my punches are a lot quicker than his, plus I know how to work angles better, trust me I know how to shut guys off. The thing is if I were to go out there and submit him in less than a minute It would prove nothing, a true martial artist would want to challenge himself and the challenge presented in front of me right now is to out-strike someone who on paper is the better striker.”

Fan Question:Should Frank Mir stand with Cheick Kongo?

Right before UFC 100 Mir got ripped and in really good shape, didn’t you see the training videos? He was jacked for Lesnar, so he got beat at his best, no excuses.

Mir will take out Brock in the third fight after he puts on the extra muscle

I knew Mir would stand with Cheik. Now Mir will lose this match cuz of his arrogance. Strange that Mir didn’t get a view on life after his accident.
