Most observers feel Shane Carwin is coming into his Heavyweight title fight against Brock Lesnar as the smaller fight. Not that he is small at 6 foot 4, 260 pounds. Brock Lesnar is actually shorter, but weighs more then the challenger and usually comes into the Octagon at 280 pounds or more. Carwin knows that Lesnar will probably be looking to use that extra weight to his advantage when they meet at UFC 106, so he intends on coming into the fight at 290 pounds. He also says he intends on being the better athlete and bringing the Heavyweight title home to Colorado in his fight against Lesnar.
Shane Carwin answered questions from fans on his website (Shane-Carwin.com) and said he believes that Lesnar will attempt to use his speed and reach as a advantage in their upcoming fight.
Carwin then revealed that he will look to add extra muscle and size to his body to counter Lesnar’s size advantage in the Octagon.
As for a prediction coming into his fight against Lesnar, the challenger would not give one, but said he intends on bringing the Heavyweight title home to Colorado.
Fan Question: What will be the bigger factor in the Lesnar vs Carwin fight, Standup or Wrestling?
