UFC 101: Declaration Live results and updates

Nelo will be updating the results of the Televised card for UFC 101: Declaration tonight at 10:00 pm est in the comment section as the fights finish. Feel free to chat along with us and leave comments and reactions as well.

Josh Neer vs Kurt Pellegrino opens the show.

Round 1
- Kurt Pellegrino opens up by landing a big slam on Neer.
- Neer looks good off of his back and Pellegrino barely esapes two submission attempts.
- Pellegrino probably won the round due to the fact he had the dominant position for a majority of the round.
- Neer does not take a lot of punishment, submissions could have kept the round close despite Pellegrino’s dominant position.

Round 2
- Fighters exchange and Pellegino lands the best of the exchange.
- Gains takedown and dominant position again in Neer’s full guard.
- Neer is attemptng every submission he can to catch Pellegrino.
-After numerous attempts to pass Neer’s guard, Pellegrino gets throught and gets back control. He attempts to sink in a RNC, but Neer escapes the round.

Pellegrino 2 rounds to none for Neer

Round 3
- Pellegrino again lands the takedown and goes to work.
-Neer is frustrated and is looking for the Ref to stand them up, but is not making too many attempts to escape.
- Neer finally gets top control, but it is too little too late.

I score it 30 to 27 Pellegrino.

Judges score and official result: Pellegrino wins by Unanimous decision.

Round 1
- Tito Ortiz and Jenna showed, MMA Math wets pants in excitment.
- Almeida runs right in to clinch and takedown Grove to no avail.
- Grove attempts Guillotine while Almeida tries to take him down with under hooks.
- Almeida finally lands a takedown with 1:50 to go in the first round.
- Grove attempts elbows from the bottom.
- Almeida passes to half guard and then gets into side control with :50 seconds left. Landing knees from side control.
- Almeida slams Grove by lifting him off of his feet.
Round 2
- Grove lands a tight Armbar, some how Almeida escapes from a fully locked submission.
- Grove still on his back attempting submissions from the bottom.
- Almeida’s ground game looks perfect for the 170 pound division, where he will go after this fight.
- Fighters on their feet Grove lands nice punch and big knee, but Almeida does not faulter.
- He takes down Grove again.

Almeida wins round 2

Round 3
- Almeida repeats his performance and lands punches and elbows from the top.
- Grove tries submission to no avail.
- Almeida does a great job on his feet landing over hand rights and clinching again.

My score: 30 to 27 Almeida.
Judges Score and decision: 30 to 27 Almeida Unanimous decision win.

Pellegrino defeats Neer by Unanimous decision

The fight was pretty much the same throughout all 3 rounds with each round starting on the feet for a few exchanges then pellegrino gets the takedown and controls every round on top position while Neer tries to get the sub, but to no avail as Pellegrino is all over Neer to take the fight and the win

Almeida defeats Grove by Unanimous decision

This fight was almost a mirror image of the Pellegrino vs Neer fight as Almeida was able to secure takedowns in every round even though Grove almost won the fight by armbar submission in rd. 2, but Almeida did enough with the takedowns and a few overhand rights to seal the deal and take home the W

Johny Hendricks vs Amir Sadollah

-Sadollah lands some good leg kicks, but is caught by a Hook coming in to Hendricks.
- Hendricks lands uppercuts and Hooks planting Sadollah on the ground.
- Marigliotta stops the fight :32 secons in, Hendricks wins by TKO.
- Amir was on his knees looking up at Hendricks, Amir was trying to get up.
- Rogan says it was a early stoppage.

Johny Hendricks defeats Amir Sadollah by TKO punches in rd. 1

Sadollah starts off nicely landing some good leg kicks then Amir tried to go in and throw some punches, but Hendricks rocks Sadollah with some very fast uppercut shots to drop the former Tuf winner to the ground as the ref, Dan Miragliotta stops the fight which some say it might have been stopped early as Sadollah was attempting to get up to his feet, but Hendricks wins in his UFC debut

Undercard fight: Shane Nelson vs Arron Riley

Round 1

- Undercard =’s K.O or good finish.

- Actually, I don’t think this is a undercard fight. 10 seconds after official announcements the next fight is starting. Good shit UFC.

- Arron Riley controls the fight in the clinch.

- Nelson looks tired from Riley’s relentless pace.

Round 1: Riley

Round 2
- Same shit so far, Riley is controling Nelson upclose landing knees, kicks and punches from upclose.
- Fight goes to the ground Riley on top in Nelson’s guard.
- Nelson looks like Riley is wearing him out slowly.
- This is a Boooooring fight.

Round 2: Riley wins by less boring and actually landing strikes.

Round 3:

- Fight breaks out in the crowd it sounds more interesting then this one.

- Arron Riley is winning still in the guard.

- Crowd is cheering as Drunken idiots are escorted out, Put that fight on UFC!!!

- God this fight sucks (fact)

- Riley wins this round too.

- Joe Rogan says if Riley doesn’t win he is running throught the crowd naked.

Aaron Riley defeats Shane Nelson by Unanimous decision

Riley imposed his size on a much smaller Shane Nelson as Riley was able to have his way on the feet and on the ground en route to getting the decision convincingly and also avenging that bad loss to Nelson at UFC 96 this past March as fight in the crowd is still going on

Round 1

- Not even close, Anderson knocks down Forrest Twice in the first.

- He then KO’s Forrest with a “Fade away” jab.

- Forrest goes out cold with what looks to be a love tap to his face.

Anderson Silva defeats Forrest Griffin

I don’t know how to call this but Silva just had his way with Griffin as he did what he has always done which was feel out Forrest’s approach and go for the kill as the Middlewweight champion wins by KO as Forrest runs out of the octagon in shame. Nuff said

@Chiggs, Dang, I never thought of it like that. Who was Coleman’s match vs. BTW, what did you think of Shamrock’s fall before Ace could even connect with the head kick. This was years ago, just when Ace was getting started in the ufc. That looked very set up. Maybe Ace didn’t know, but I think Dana must have given Ken a nice bit of dosh to take that tumble.

- Very close round standing until BJ Knocks down Kenny.

- BJ appears to slow down, IDK if he is gassed or tired.

BJ wins round 1

Round 2
- Florian using GSP’s gameplan looks to have success.

- BJ Slows down as Florian slowly looks to tire him out.

- BJ still looks like he can end the fight with one hard shot. Florian is being careful.

Florian wins round 2

Round 3
- BJ hits with power shots, but Kenny is controling the fight against the cage.

- Florian’s gameplan looks good and smart, but he can not continue to risk BJ landing a power shot.

- Very close round, but BJ is beathing hard after the round.

Round 3: BJ Penn

Round 4

- BJ lands the first takedown of the fight at the 4:00 minute mark.

- Penn in full guard punishing Florian from side mount.

- Full mount, Florian in trouble. BJ transitions to the back and looking to finish.

- Landing shots from Florian’s back and kicking him body.

- Penn sinks in the Rear naked choke to retain the title.

- The fight went to the ground and it was over, too strong too powerful for Florian.

Official Result: BJ Penn retains the title to remain UFC Lightweight champion. (3:54) Round 1, Submission RNC.
