Mike Swick was asked at the UFC 99 post fight press conference who he would like to face next in the Octagon and he stated that he would like to fight a top contender. One of the fighters he named was Matt Hughes (Click here to read) one of the fighters that he mentioned.
It appears Swick may get his wish according to Insidefight.com’s latest report and he may face off against Matt Hughes at UFC 103.
Mike Swick (12-4) is coming into this possible bout on a 4 fight win steak and two of those were by impressive knockouts of Jonathan Goulet (Fight for the Troops) and Ben Saunders (at UFC 99) a few weeks ago.
Matt Hughes (43-7) is also coming into this bout with a win over his nemesis Matt Serra at UFC 98 after a long war of words in the press. The decision victory snapped a two fight losing streak for Hughes in the Octagon.
While this fight was not confirmed according to the report the fight is a possible co-main event for the September 19, card in Dallas, Texas.
**Remember these fights are not confirmed and are only rumors at this point, but I wanted to make sure I at least shared what I am finding online.
