For those of you who are catching up on your MMA and UFC action both Brock Lesnar and Frank Mir will be facing one another at the historic UFC 100 event on July 11 where they will be fighting it out for the undisputed Heavyweight championship, but these two already have a history as they have crossed paths at UFC 81 in February of 2008 which also happened to be Lesnar’s Octagon debut. However, as impressive as Lesnar was it was Mir who pulled off the submission for the victory and now Lesnar will be looking for payback, but Mir still does not see that happening.
In the same article from a recent edition of Maxim Magazine Mir talks about his first encounter with Lesnar where he remembers the former NCAA wrestling champion being in pain from his kneebar attempt which forced Lesnar to tap out and also poked at his wrestling abilities in matchups saying that they were “boring”.
Mir is labeled as “one of the two greatest heavyweight submission guys ever.” by UFC President Dana White and the current interim UFC Heavyweight champion also added that there was no way that anybody and most likely including Lesnar would not be able to hang with him for 25 minutes and not get submitted.
Fan Question: Do you believe Mir can submit Lesnar once again?
