Kenny Florian may be getting the next shot at BJ Penn’s Lightweight title at UFC 101, but Diego Sanchez doesn’t think he deserves it. Sanchez made it clear that he feels he deserves the first crack at the 155 pound title.
Diego Sanchez is set to face Clay Guida at The Ultimate Fighter finale and knows that a win will take him a step closer to the gold, but he feels he deserves the title shot right now.
Sanchez also made it clear in the past that he wants to fight BJ Penn for the title and not Kenny Florian. As we told you before Sanchez has blasted BJ Penn (Click here to read) in the past over his performance and conditioning at UFC 94.
“After seeing BJ’s performance against St. Pierre”, Sanchez explained. “Man, I would say it’s a bad time for him to fight anybody right now. Man, that guy has zero cardio and he goes into the biggest fight of his life with that type of cardio and endurance?”Sanchez once again repeated those sentiments today when he said he would like to for Penn to win at UFC 101 when he faces off against Kenny Florian.
One thing we have seen from today’s interviews with Diego Sanchez is that he does not lack confidence. No one knows if the winner of Saturday night’s main event bout will get a title shot, but they will be closer.
