It appears that the Nevada State Athletic Commission has appointed their officials for the two title fights that will be taking place at UFC 100 next month at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas when Herb Dean will be overseeing the main event Heavyweight title unification bout between Brock Lesnar and Frank Mir while Steve Mazzagatti will be watching over the Welterweight championship bout with Georges St-Pierre facing off against Thiago Alves in the co-main event.
On the Tuesday edition of “Good Sports” NSAC Executive Director, Keith Kizer has confirmed the referees expected to cover the two championship matchups.
Dean is one of the best officials in a ring or cage outside of ‘Big’ John McCarthy, but Mazzagatti has been criticized heavily for his officiating by UFC President Dana White, but Kizer thinks otherwise.
In addition to Dean and Mazzagatti being apart of the UFC 100 event, so will other veteran officials Yves Lavigne and Mario Yamasaki referee the other bouts on the card as well according to Kizer who also adds that Dean, Mazzagatti, Josh Rosenthal and Kim Winslow will be officiating the bouts for this Saturday night’s The Ultimate Fighter “United States vs United Kingdom” finale from the Palms Casino Resort which is also in Las Vegas, Nevada.
