Dana White officially announces UFC 2010 Undisputed video game, not Mauricio “Shogun” Rua vs Lyoto Machida

We got all excited for last night’s E3 preview on Spike TV, but we did not watch only for the revealed trailers of Mass Effect 2, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Madden 2010 and much more. But, most MMA fans were waiting to see if Dana White officially announced the rumored bout between Mauricio “Shogun” Rua and Lyoto Machida.

Turns out, he announced something that everyone had figured out already, but it was not the fight. It was that the UFC and THQ would team up again to make a sequel to UFC 2009 Undisputed on Playstation 3 and XBox 360.

While this is a great announcement and I am sure most of you are excited at the possibility at a game that was almost perfect getting an improved sequel. It was not what we were expecting out of Dana White’s “Big announcement”.

We should have known better too, the last time Dana White had a “Big announcement” fans, websites and anyone who could put two sentences on a computer had a source with a different story. Some said Fedor had signed with the UFC, Dana had found a cure for AIDS, the UFC had signed with Telemundo TV and a ton of other crazy shit.

Anyway, I am sure in a week from now we are going to get the official announcement that Machida is going to fight Keith Jardine or Dan Quinn.

I am still pumped up that UFC 2009 Undisputed will become UFC 2010 Undisputed and that Mass Effect 2 looked kick ass. I wonder what they meant by “Sheppard your dead”?

we want more blood, story, voices, manual training (not just sparing with the hardest man on the planet) and we wanna see more of those UFC girls and less of mario yamasaki.

Something the WWE game did very well was have whoever is champ actually hold the belt until it is taken from them. The UFC game should be no different. Also, we should have a “Create a Card” mode where were can make & name our own UFC PPV, putting on whatever fights we want. These two things alone would add hours of extra playtime. Shit, I havent played the current UFC game in MONTHS. Just not very fun. Especially having to back to the main menu for each and every fight.

We need a ufc store for the career mode where in fight night 2004 you could buy trunks for ypur fighter.I also want more fighting styles and moves.Like karate,Tae kwon do,Hapkido,and sambo.

There should be more styles..
but only lyoto machida can effectively use karate, and nobody in the ufc could make tae kwon do or hapkido work. there would be no point

this comment must have come from a ufc newbie. yes lyoto is the only true karate-based fighter but tae kwon do and hapkido are actually very revelant anong the lower ranks of the ufc. anderson silva even admits that most of his mid range striking roots from his taekwon do training

yea i agree n like the fighters should have more of there own signatures moves in stead of just the superman punch n over hand! plus more slams and different cuts n bruises and lumps. n the ref should be able to stop the fight when u beating on the stand up not jus the ground

I think its an awesome idea. Creating a very unique fighter that utilises hapkido as his main form of offence. Just like Lyoto did with Karate.

The game needs better comentary and the onoucer needs to say the fighters weight and heigt along with his win-loss record.They also need more fighters of pride and ufc.

It needs realistic hit zones, alot of times in slowmotion you see they get hit with the forearm for the knockout. this picture at the top is bullshit though. GSP wouldnt get put into that position, especially by BJ Penn

i think for ufc undisputed 2010, cpu vs cpu is a must. .they need to have better nick names for a created fighter.they need to allow u to change the weight of a fighter without having to change your weightclass.example u should be able to make your fighter weight 265 pounds.

I think this has a lot of potential to become a great fighting game. I look forward to seeing an expanded career mode with the ability to change weight classes, a more in-depth fighter roster, a heavily re-vamped fighting structure (including more styles) and redone ground work.

UFC 2009 Undisputed was great, but it wasn’t enough. Hopefully, this game feels more loose, more fluid, and I can only hope they do more with the announcers. I got tired of hearing them praise my opponent to no end while I’m sitting in the dark after I’ve had a 32 win (32 by knockout) 0 loss 0 draw career in the Heavyweight division. :\

And the picture is BS. BJ Penn could never beat GSP on the ground in the first place, much less submit him. Maybe back when GSP wasn’t the God of Welterweight mixed martial arts, and (arguably) the best Pound for Pound fighter on the planet, much less best the Wrestler in the UFC.

Almost perfect??? UFC undisputed was mediocre at best and came no where close to all the hype it created. There are a lot of holes and rough spots that need to be addressed. I hope this version is a lot better

you should be able to play careers with real superstars…and in career, instead of a try-out, you need to proof yourself in TUF…that would be the best…now you need to play against 4-5 crappy fighters before you fight a known UFC-fighter…
And last…find an arrangement with Randy Couture to put him in the game and fix the fucking hair-problems, so Clay Guida is in the game too!!!

I think you should be able to do a career with any current fighter rather than creating as well as creating your own fighter. The ground game definitely needs improvement. The story line needs improvement too. They should put rivalries in the game like rampage and rashad evans and brock lesnar and frank mir

They should have a old school ufc mode where you fight as royce or ken shamrock or tank abbott or an ultimate fighter mode where you and 15 other fighters in 2 weight classes(or the same)train with 2 ufc champions and train together and fight for the contract.Oh and update the gameplay of course like more styles and more fluid fighting.

i dont know what most of u are winging about ,ive played alot of fighter games,ufc 2009 is by far the best in everyway on ps3 or xbox and carnt wait for ufc10,yes there could be improvements but its the first game release,i think people underestermate how GOOD it actually is.online is slow i agree.and i do feel that in create mode that dana shudnt retire u ,they are older ufc stars in ufc today so why shud u retire…we need enternces too…and more crowd depth…but otherwise 10/10 for me

it needs more cage game.. standing and on the ground.. it needs more punch combos, punch kick combos, kicks that have different backgrounds, tkd, karate, as well as higher level of kickboxing, muay thai, and different approaches for takedowns, from the side and all that… it definitely needs more moves on the ground. more defense for guys that dont have high level of BJJ but maybe are stronger and can easily avoid gettin pounded by a weaker JJ guy.. reversals need to be earned through training at the higher level, and have different timing so it takes experience as well as speed… career mode need to improve, WWE games are way more advanced in career mode, so u need to improve the storylines, cinematics, earn your entrance, who should be only for the maincard fighters, more realistic crowd needs to be achieved, you have to improve always. playing against the cage is a great improvement, hopefully is not dissapointing…

I am in the top 5000 players on 2009.. So what I say u should take note to.. Game needs entrances with real walkout songs.. More styles.. fighters should fight like they do in reality.. A TUF mode and create your own ppv would catapult this game and most of all an open weight mode.. Who doesn’t wanna put gsp vs Anderson silva?! More indepth career mode would be nice.. And I agree there should be real strike zones.. Cuts should be more realistic and should stop fights if neccesary

they seem to hit smoe key points which i sed they needed like aginst the cage ect….. as for games modes maby a manager mode ?? or more indepth story mode like start off from a run dwn gym in crap arenas and then choose a real life gym like wolflier n train with bispin ect

so far i been into the ufc games since they came out. the ufc 09 game came along way from what they use to be. now i know this is only one opinion but i think it would be great to see Renato Babalu Sobral in the game. i know its hard to say what fighters should go and shouldnt go but babalu came a long way, hes a hell of a fighter and hes got a damn good record. so ufc fans please back me up on this.

Hey Guys
There needs to be a way better career layout. I mean It isnt very attracting in 2009 and there is WAY to much messages. I also think you only get to choose 1 training camp instead of choosing it everytime and more styles definatly.
Better ground game and it need WAY better clinching game like in the body clinch all you do is try to et double underhooks and go for takedown. Need different aprroches for takedowns, submissions, transitions, knockout points and etc
And i also think you should choose your weight and end up in the last fight of the Ultimate fighter after you do all your looks and win or lose you get in like the forrest griffin fight.It Needs WAY more better nick names and physical apperances abilitys

Also more refs and more better commentation. TYhe commentation in 2009 wats GREAT but if it went the 3rounds no metter what you did they would say all i need is half a energy drink all be back in the mode. They dont seem to be satisfied and they are alwys cheering you on and not hinm.The knnock out rates is unbelievibly astupid i mean i have 17 wins 11 by knock out 4 by sub and 2 by decision.My guys welterweigt strengths at 67 and spped77 and cardio 53 and mysubmission is at 80 and my stand up puches are at 40 and i dont even try know em out i just use combos i mean i kncked someone out with a actual jab which DIDNT connect. Submissions are also impossible in arm agains most fighters there on like 40 submision defence and 60strength and cannot win

UFC 2010 should add an outside venue or two like lets say Tokyo or Vegas? where its night outside and the fans are going crazy. An add of new venues would not hurt the game!

I think. You should be able to improve your created fighters skills without having to go through hell to slowly build it up by doing annoying camps. The camps were fun but it got to repetitive. Need to add more cuts and realistic bleeding, Like blood dripping etc. Deff need to make the storyline as TUF and work your way to a contract and let that be the time you build ur characters skills. Entrances are a MUST, Have Bruce call there record height etc, When you win the title in exhibition let it stay with that person and not just be able to make whoevers in the red corner champ. The ground games good but when your on defense, its really feels your only option is to escape before being submitted when no damage was even done to you.It really dosent matter to me just throwing it our there. Finally Ive waited for the day where a game would announce your created charcters real name along with their nickname. I know its highly unlikely but itd be cool. One last thing I thought would be cool is how you were able to design ur trunks, being able to design ur banner behind you before fights and have whatever camp you choose as ur outside coaches. Maybe throw some fighters in the crowd during shows like you see on tv and make it where you can here your camp yelling out instructions. This is my perfect game but I know only 1/2 of these ideas would make it but Id love to see it like this

Itd also be cool if you could import ur orevious created character into the story mode which I hope is TUF and let you got from there instead of doing it over again..Maybe make that optional
