The UFC officially announced bouts that were rumored for their first event in Cologne, Germany on June 13. Marcus Davis vs Dan Hardy is also now official giving the fighters what they wanted.
The UFC officially announced the long rumored bouts today on their official website.
Dan Hardy (21-6) and Marcus Davis (21-5) will get their wish to face off after a lot of trash talk and posturing. Hardy called out Davis after his knockout win over Rory Markham at UFC 95 in London, England. This fight should be a great stand up war as both fighters are saying that they have the better stand-up and striking.
Mike Swick (13-2) and Ben Saunders (7-0-2) will make their returns to action after being rumored to face different opponents at earlier events. This fight will have serious impact on the Welterweight division because Swick is within distance of a title shot right now.
Denis Stojnic (12-2) will face off against Stefan Struve (20-3) in a bout that will probably be a “Loser leaves town bout” on the preliminary portion of the card.
Last, but not least Dennis Siver (13-6) will face off against Dale Hartt (6-1)on the undercard as well. For those of you who are familiar with Hartt he was Corey Hill’s opponent at Fight for the Troops when he broke his leg while checking a kick.
UFC 99 “The Comeback” will be headlined by a catch-weight bout between former champions Rich Franklin facing off against Wanderlei Silva.
