Rumor: Kendall Grove vs Wilson Gouveia at UFC 101

After coming off of a two fight losing streak former Ultimate Fighter season 3 winner Kendall “Da Spyder” Grove has fought back to win his next 2 UFC fights with wins over the late Evan Tanner and most recently to Jason Day at UFC 96 this past Saturday and now there is some talk that he may be facing a stiffer test in American Top Team’s Wilson Gouveia possibly at UFC 101 in the month of August.

During a recent interview with Fighthype.com Grove says that match maker Joe Silva could put him in sometime around August and could possibly be put up against either Gouveia or Nate Marquardt, but is ready to fight anybody.

“A couple of guys they’re mentioning is they want to see me and Marquardt or Gouveia. They think Gouveia would be a good test for me. It’s just like fighting any of the other guys; show me the money. I gotta feed three mouths now instead of one. I’m down to fight anybody. I got a solid crew I’m working with and I’m learning every day. I’m in school right now training. I did some Jiu Jitsu the other night and I’m staying in shape. I talked to Joe Silva and he said no later than August, so I hope to get on the Penn-Florian card and get one more victory.” said Grove.

Should this come to fruition than Grove could possibly be competing on the UFC 101 card along with his fellow Hawaiian and current UFC Lightweight champion BJ Penn to take on Kenny Florian, but will it be that Grove does indeed face Wilson Gouveia.
