Pot Shot: Marquardt says Anderson has holes in his game St.Pierre does not

Many people have argued over who they feel is the number one Mixed martial artist in the sport. Some say Fedor, some say Anderson Silva and others feel that Georges St.Pierre is the best as well. Nate Marquardt was recently asked that question and he says that St.Pierre is better than Anderson Silva, because he does not have holes in his game and the Middleweight champion does.

Fanhouse.com interviewed Marquardt and asked him about who he felt was the number one pound for pound fighter in MMA.

“Georges St. Pierre”, Marquardt replied. ”He’s obviously shown it by beating everyone in the welterweight division. He’s a great athlete. He’s a complete fighter. He has great standup, great wrestling, great ground. He’s strong, he’s fast, he’s big for his division. And I train with him so I know how good he is. He’s great in training and he’s great in his fights, too.

Marquardt explained that Silva still has holes in his overall game and St.Pierre does not, he also explained that his wrestling adds another dimension to St.Pierre.

“Definitely. You look at Anderson Silva and he has holes in his game. People can point out holes in his game. No one can point out a hole in Georges’ game.”
