Clementi gets cut by the UFC
UFC Lightweight fighter Rich “No Love” Clementi got exactly what his nickname says by the organization as he is the next fighter in line to be released which seemed to have happened shortly after his loss this past weekend at the UFC Fight Night 17 card from Tampa Bay, Florida to fellow Lightweight competitor Gleison Tibau in the first round of their match-up, making it a second straight loss for the Louisiana native.
According to FiveOuncesOfPain.com they were informed on Clementi’s roster cut from the UFC early Monday afternoon in which completed his third tour of duty with the promotion.
Prior to his recent 2 fight losing streak, Clementi was on a 4 fight win streak which started with a seond round guillotine choke submission over highly touted Welterweight prospect Anthony Johnson back at UFC 76 in September of 2007, but in his last 2 fights inside the Octagon he put on back to back poor performances against Gray Maynard at UFC 90 last October and the most recent in a first round guillotine choke submission defeat to Gleison Tibau this past weekend at UFC Fight Night 17.
Clementi who has bounced in and out of the UFC could possibly make it back for a fourth stint should he put up more better performances outside the organization, but until then that remains to be seen.
