Clementi gets cut by the UFC

UFC Lightweight fighter Rich “No Love” Clementi got exactly what his nickname says by the organization as he is the next fighter in line to be released which seemed to have happened shortly after his loss this past weekend at the UFC Fight Night 17 card from Tampa Bay, Florida to fellow Lightweight competitor Gleison Tibau in the first round of their match-up, making it a second straight loss for the Louisiana native.

According to FiveOuncesOfPain.com they were informed on Clementi’s roster cut from the UFC early Monday afternoon in which completed his third tour of duty with the promotion.

Prior to his recent 2 fight losing streak, Clementi was on a 4 fight win streak which started with a seond round guillotine choke submission over highly touted Welterweight prospect Anthony Johnson back at UFC 76 in September of 2007, but in his last 2 fights inside the Octagon he put on back to back poor performances against Gray Maynard at UFC 90 last October and the most recent in a first round guillotine choke submission defeat to Gleison Tibau this past weekend at UFC Fight Night 17.

Clementi who has bounced in and out of the UFC could possibly make it back for a fourth stint should he put up more better performances outside the organization, but until then that remains to be seen.

    • Gogo-13

@Hellboi, HAH now he can go to StrikeFarce and be a B level champion with the rest of their fighters

      • Harry sack

@Gogo-13, I wouldnt say they are B-level Thomson and Milendez are stars in the making and would give a lot of the UFC guys a run for their money any day of the week.

@ reply Harry sack, I don’t agree with you on that one The Punk had a lot of shots to come to better organizations and didn’t he would barely be top 10 in the UFC

I agree we have seen a lot of Fighters that are great in Japan like Melendez get taken down with ease by wrestlers and exposed as Martial artists with good jits and striking but real Mixed martial Artists know how to wrestle and take you down and avoid the takedown.

That’s why Melendez got Pwned by Thomson on the ground.
