Joachim “Hellboy” Hansen may be the new Dream Lightweight Champion after defeating Shinya Aoki to win the Dream Lightweight Tournament, but a Champion of K-1 tournament’s past is already on his heels for his first title defense. Gesias “JZ Calvan” Calvancante who injured his knee at Dream 2 against Shinya Aoki, is reported to be Hansen’s first title defense.
Adam Morgan of The Fight Network has the scoop reporting Calvan and Hellboy will meet up at Dream/K-1 Dynamite on New Years Eve.
While Hansen and Calvancante are set to face off to decide who is the Dream Lightweight Champion on the New Years Eve card which is set to feature 5 Mixed Martial Arts bouts and 5 K-1 Kickboxing bouts. One of the most anticipated bouts may also be a rematch between Mirko Cro Cop and Alistair Overeem.
As we reported to you last week Cro Cop and Overeem seem set to finish their grudge match (click here for original report) as well. Their first fight ended in controversy when Overeem landed a series of blows to Cro Cop’s “family Jewels” which ended their heated match up in a No Contest. As usual we will keep you updated on any forth coming information about this card as soon as we find out.
